DPW watchdogs John Gard’s per diem cash grab

At Watchdog Milwaukee we like to be the ones doing the biting but for once the Democratic Party of Wisconsin is firing away at the vicious and snarling Republican Leader in the Assembly, John Gard.
Gard has been squirreling away per diem cash for his long ride home to Peshtigo for over twenty years but it [...]

Giving Corruption a Bad Name: How Scott Walker Sold Milwaukee County for Chump Change

MILWAUKEE (AP) - Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker says he is returning $325 in campaign donations to executives of a company that won a $250,000 no-bid contract from the county.
Hmmm. How is that that outside of a warzone we are awarding fat-cat contractors “no-bid” contracts? We have to actively oppose legislation like TABOR (The Taxpayers [...]

Madison Satanists v. Bill O’Reilly

On the December 13 edition of The O’Reilly Factor, loudmouth host Bill O’Reilly compared the Richmond Times-Dispach to media in Madison where “you expect those people to be communing with Satan.” While the compliment is sweet, it seems awfully misguided to denounce the media in a city that had been home to [...]

Concealed Carry: The NRA’s Masterful Home Invasion Plan

The state Assembly is set to vote Tuesday, Dec. 13 on concealed carry, a new law that would allow state residents to get a permit to carry a concealed gun in public.

The security guard in the 19-story downtown Milwaukee office building where I work, is aware of this, he tells me when I mention it on my way to work today. He’s also aware that it will likely pass, even though most of the police agencies in the state are opposed to concealed carry. Gov. Doyle, who spent years in law enforcement as the state’s top prosecutor, is also opposed, and has said he will veto the bill. The opposition of police and other law enforcement officials is good enough for the security guard in my building - he doesn’t think concealed carry is a good idea.

State Senator Alberta Darling shows lack of courage by supporting anti-gay referrendum

Imagine for a second if there was going to be a referrendum on the ballot opposing giving brunettes the ability to marry. Many people would be up in arms at how utterly dimwitted our legislators who voted to authorize such a referrendum were. Their leaving the legislature after the next election would be a predetermined [...]
