Clarke fails reading and math
Could it be that Sheriff David “Barney Fife” Clarke’s recent woes are due to educational deficiency? As Spivak and Bice point out this week, Clarke had trouble reading the signs in his own jail and brought a gun into an area where they are prohibited.
He also has problems with that “more than” “less than” stuff we all learned in second grade math. He couldn’t figure out that holding detainees in the booking room for 31 hours, 50 hours or 100 hours is holding them for more than 30 hours, which led to 16,662 violations of a legally binding consent decree, which led to the county being found in contempt of court.
Finally, a new county audit says the Sheriff’s Department issued 29,528 citations in 2004, and 26,919 in 2003, but that’s not what the Sheriff’s Department says in budget documents. The department claimed 27,000 citations in 2004 and 29,598 in 2003.
All this is just more evidence that Clarke is less than competent.

Hey King David, 2+2=4 it’s simple math. Once again he thinks he is above the rules and the law. I was working when we had the problem with over crowding. It was hell working in that booking room. I am sure King David was hard at work too. Like, traveling to see his out of state girl friends on County money. Picking out his BRAND NEW squad car. Finding ways to spend his almost 40,000 dollar raise he gave himself when he took over. Then the long nights with Scott Walker making plans how to get all they can from the County while in office. These guys are a joke. Hey, KING DAVID, since you can’t do simple math or read have Scott read this to you.
