Why Walker wants Fraley to challenge Senator Reynolds

Walker’s Chief of Staff is from the Markensen group and Brian Fraley is also from the Markensan group. That alone isn’t reason for Scott Walker to want Fraley to challenge State Senator Tom Reynolds in a primary. Walker wants a big Tosa turnout for Republican gubernatorial primary.

As the former State Rep from Wauwatosa, Walker sees these voters as his people and his primary opponent, Congressman Mark Green, is likely to do poorly there.

Add the unusually high voter turnout that Tosa has to brag about and Walker has strong motivations to twist Fraley’s arm to help him get out the vote in September by forcing Reynolds into a primary.

Philisophically, Reynolds and Walker are tied at the hip, but for Walker this is more about his craven lust for power more than party unity. Anticipating that Fraley will enter the race out of allegience for his pal Walker is a safe bet.
