Convicted Criminal Candidate Goes on Attack in Brown Deer
Sensing that he might not be able to pull off a win in his efforts to nab a seat on the Brown Deer School Board, convicted Criminal Bruce Thomas has started to attack one of the other six people vying for the seat.
Dennis Lowder, one of the first candidates out of the gates and sporting an impressive flock of yard signs, is defending himself against new Thomas attack yard signs that say that Lowder is “for a $40 million Dollar Tax”.
Lowder denies this and calls Thomas’ claim “An out and out lie!”
Brown Deer votes should remember that Thomas was busted for credit card fraud and lied about it on an application to teach in the Brown Deer schools. Unfortunately Thomas did teach in the Brown Deer schools for a few days but has since been found out. After he was found out, he focused his attention on his political agenda has has teamed up with CRG to spread his venom.
Now the question is, will the public care enough about Thomas’ convictions to say “no” on election day or will they believe Thomas’ lies and be scared into not voting for Lowder? If the momentum turns against Lowder, Thomas will just have to pick off one more school board candidate to have a solid likelihood of being elected.
Who will Thomas smear next?

Followup: We had hoped to provide a link to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel article today but their server is crashing. Fortunately, google has this tidbit from todays JSOnline story cached:
Residents and some of the candidates have brought up Thomas’ past brushes with the law.
Court records show he was convicted in January 1998 of misdemeanor theft by fraud for using other people’s credit cards to make fraudulent orders to fictitious customers. He was ordered to serve 30 days with work-release privileges, and placed on probation for 14 months.
In 2001, Thomas filled out an application to become a substitute teacher for the Brown Deer School District and failed to disclose the conviction.
“I must have just made an error. I did fill out a revised application,” he said. In recent years, he said, “I have worked very hard to be an honest and forthright citizen. Going door-to-door I’ve learned that people are concerned with quality schools, but they don’t want a major tax increase. They aren’t concerned about my past.”
