Kudos where kudos are deserved

jscolor.jpgThe Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel has made a few changes and they're a welcome addition.

First, their online news has gotten better and I can only imagine that it's because of an excitement that reporters have when they know they can scoop even the news or the radio.  (I'll admit to a bit of pride in having scooped all other media outlets on multiple stories so I can relate.)

Yesterday, reporter Linda Spice instigated the story about the Falk Corp explosion and within about 10 minutes it was online.

The JS is now accepting photo submissions from its readers.  With the rise of digital photography, the JS is on the cutting edge with their inclusion of reader submissions.

Editorially, writers are now questioning whether reducing the size of legislative bodies makes sense fiscally.  They may be Johnny-come-lately(s) on this one but it's better late than never.

So there is hope for the JS.
