Republican Mayors & former State Rep distancing themselves from Reynolds, Supporting Sullivan

Sullivan.jpgProminent Republicans in State Senate District 5, currently held by State Senator Tom Reynolds (R-West Allis), are abandoning their own and supporting Wauwatosa Alderman and Democrat, Jim Sullivan.

Dr. Frank Urban, a Republican and former State Representative who represented a Brookfield assembly district for over 10 years, has endorsed Sullivan.  This is likely a product of Sullivan's moderation as well as his common sense approach to health care.  Sullivan supports health care reform which includes universal risk pools, cost containment and requires the buy in of both industry leaders and consumers.  As a health care attorney, Sullivan represented hospitals, clinics and physician groups.

Sullivan can now count two former Republican Mayors among his supporters.  Maricolette Walsh, former Mayor of the City and Kate Bloomberg, former Mayor of Brookfield, have both endorsed Sullivan. Bloomberg said, "we think (Sullivan) brings excellent qualifications to the job, and we think this is a very important time in the life of this state to put qualified people in that office and we think Jim Sullivan is that person."  Walsh points out that she's not abandoning Republicans — her front yard still sports the sign of other Republicans but she's also proud to be able to sport a Sullivan sign.

Who cares, they just want more money from the state to spend.

  2. Jim McGuigan:

These three Republicans are not in office anymore Bob. They would not get the money from the state to spend anyway. These are people who used to be in public service but left.

  3. Sue Moe:

Kate Bloomberg - making Bluemound Road all it can be and then some.

  4. Tim:

Goodbye, Dohnal. Your ship is sinking fast.

  5. Big Kahuna:

    Dohnal…

I think more people care than you think.

Have you considered the reality that many traditional GOP voters actually pay attention to the issues?

Your little buddy Tom isn’t winning any friends with his recent behavior.

You keep bitching about Dems making personal attacks and avoiding the issues while at the same time you’re advising Tom to dodge debates.

Put-up or shut-up and stop boring the voters with your worn-out rhetoric. Grow-up and put on your big boy underpants, you’re starting to sound like a whiner.

  6. John:

Hey Dohnal, why is a Michigan group spending money to save your boy? I thought Reynolds was opposed to special interests.

  7. John-david Morgan:

Careful folks! Bob and Reynolds don’t like the First Amendment — the real reason they hide from open debates.

    My favorite Tom Reynolds quote:
“Voting is a privelage, not a right.”
