Camp Heartland is what’s right about America
I met the founder of Camp Heartland, Neil Willenson, about 10 years ago. He struck me as smart and driven in his quest to create Camp Heartland, a camp for kids who are dealing with HIV/AIDS.
Camp Heartland is more than just an opportunity for kids to go camping. It offers kids suffering from HIV/AIDS the opportunity to socialize and interact with others who are dealing with the same struggles they are.
Recently, Camp Heartland benefited from the generosity of the folks ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition and Alure Home Improvement who built a new Rec Center for Camp Heartland. I hope to see many more good things come from Willenson and Camp Heartland.
