Republican hate boils over in Brown Deer

In the last few days I was amazed to hear that our neighbors all received fliers in their paperboxes expressing how all of the problems in Milwaukee County are my fault — apparently related to a vote I cast back in the year 2000 (7 years ago) when I was still in office.

This is a perfect display of the typical seething hatred I get from Republicans.

Now mind you, I’m not running for anything and in all likelihood I never will again. There’s no reason to choose now to get pissed off at Jim McGuigan but fliers were printed off and distributed to my neighbors. So I’m thinking to myself, what could have inspired this?

I guess I can blame a few things. First I run a pretty popular blog. A lot of people have heard of it and it shows up pretty high on the search engines. For instance, when you type “Charlie Sykes” into Google, it comes up with an unflattering story I wrote a few years ago. But let this be a lesson to folks — these people are lunatics. They can’t separate politics from their everyday life.

So I’m left guessing who the hatemonger is. It could be a Republican I’ve exposed for one thing or another. It could be one of the resident lunatics calls Brown Deer home (Bruce Thomas aka Bruce Slutsky comes to mind). It could be one of the CRG organizers. It could be someone who has read the Sykes story and feels that it’s necessary to inspire some sort of new activism to chase me out of Brown Deer which wouldn’t be all together unlikely since I’ve gotten a HUGE amount of hate e-mail since the death of Sykes’ mother (note: I wasn’t even in the country when it happened).

Well I’m not moving so they can leaflet away all they want. In fact, I wouldn’t be upset if this sort of GOP tactic got a little publicity.

Jim - A lot of the time I think you are misguided, and I am sure we disagree on a number of things, but I think that this whole “hate” thing has gotten out of hand on both sides of the spectrum. However, in this instance I apologize for this behaviour by members of the party that I have been a part of. It is a shame that we can’t all work toward the common goals that are hidden by “other” agendas. Sorry.

    Jim…

I think Bill pretty much nailed this correctly.

A number of years ago my wife wrote a letter to the editor that was critcal of CRG and the next day we had a guy sitting in a car outside of our house conducting “surveillance”. Intimidation doesn’t work on me.

I had to give him the hairy eyeball treatment to get him to leave. If that didn’t work I was prepared to call the cops.

They’re a shifty bunch of cowardly jerks.

WHO PRINTED THE FLYERS? JEFF STONE OR TOM REYNOLDS? JUST WONDERING!

  4. Jim McGuigan:

    Thanks Bill and Tom.
Yes, I know there are good Republicans out there — I come from a family with many of them.

    Mortified,
I don’t know who it was but I wouldn’t speculate it was a past or present state legislator. Maybe someone from their camp, but not them directly. In short, I don’t know.

The only really evil people I’ve ever met have been bible thumping, flag waving ReThuglyKKKans. They sure do “talk the talk” (endlessly!) but they almost never “walk the walk”!

Several decades in corporate Hell exposed me to an endless variety of their hypocritical sleaziness. I’ve got enough for a book and several chapters already written.

Bu$h’s totally bogus $2.4 trillion Iraq War. his Katrina debacle after folding FEMA into Homeland Security and cutting funds, etc. ad nauseum have been no surprise.

Neither has the huge number of ReThuglyKKKan perverts outed recently in national media.

It seems that the ReThuglyKKKan “wide stance” is to steal or subvert everything that isn’t nailed down and pollute what little is left.

    Gospel.
