Why worry about Midwest?

It’s likely a done deal now but there are still a few folks who are hanging onto hope that Midwest Airlines will stay a local company. With over half of the shares owned by Airtran, it’s just a matter of time.

the sad part of this is, as with any change in management, although the PROMISE is to maintain the same care in the air…. a CHANGE is coming. I’ve been close to AirTran aircraft and watched the operation first hand. It ISN’T pretty. Air tran had VERY limited staff here, if you’re bag is missing after a flight better track down an employee before they leave for the night. Sure, Midwest has a lot of staff, but they too, have been cutting back. I foresee a dim future for Midwest here. They will be the victim of continued cut backs in both service and staff. I fly Midwest..I’ve grown accustomed to the service and clean aircraft not to mention those damn cookies that tempt me every flight. I fly Midwest… well…. at least for now..

Just because it is going to happen, does not mean it is a good thing. This is still bad for Milwaukee and bad for airline travelers.

    the cookies……………

I am one of those who hope it will stay local.
The only way this will happen is if it goes private and I am not sure how possible that might be.
Otherwise, that airline as we know it will be gone soon, along with the service. I don’t like airtran, I think is a dump carrier, and hope some other carrier will come up with a better offer just so we don’t see our flying go completelly downhill.
