I think it's more than a little unfair to ascribe "racial loyalty" only to supervisors of color (or those whose constituencies are primarily comprised of communities of color).

Don't many white supervisors bear racial loyalties as well?

Surely, there are supervisors representing predominantly white districts for whom voting for Holloway -- or ANY board chair candidate of color, for that matter -- would be unthinkable in terms of electoral popularity.

Why is it that "racial loyalty" is only a factor of analysis when talking about solidarity among people of color?

Yep, The Dysfunctional, Ethically Challenged, Racially Divided County Board should step up to challenging Scott Walker at every bend. Walker has done nothing for this county except "hold the line on taxes." Its a shame that in parks, transit, and public safety will take many hits over the next 4 or less years (There is hope that Walker will run for govenor). But the board has to come together on racial, county wide issues. Not only the district's but the entire county has to come together. It's great that Holloway has placed his people in committee assignments. But now its up to the supervisors to bring back this county to what it was. Or Walker and his cohorts will destroy county government, and that will be ashame.
