He's basically pointing out that Perfecto Rivera sold out the Hispanic community and it wasn't Rivera in the first place who was upset about Belling's comment. Rivera was a hispanic face that could be placed in front of the cameras asking people to move on. Another point Miranda is making is that Rivera doesn't speak for the mainstream hispanic community here. I know him, and frankly I find him engaging and challenging and he has a real vision for his culture and the broader community. Maybe, just maybe, he would rather move on and empower himself and the larger community versus calling everyone out on the carpet at every perceived slight. You can sit there and rage against the machine but that doesn't make yours run any smoother...
