Buy a Brick for Brown Deer’s Reactionary Hate-Monger Stadium
I just receive a solicitation to buy a brick for Joe Klucarich Stadium.
The Brown Deer School Board decided to rename the stadium “Joe Klucarich Stadium” over twenty years ago to honor Klucarich, a former Principal. But Klucarich is now better known as one of the founders of Citizens for Responsible Government (CRG), the pro-recall, GOP shill, anti-tax hate group that works to oust any public official who doesn’t tow their line.
This is why most governments don’t allow naming of buildings until after the person dies. If, after doing whatever they did that impressed people, they go off to pursue political vendettas and attempt to hurt people in the process, it’s very difficult to change the name back. For all practical purposes, Brown Deer is stuck with a stadium named after a mean old crank who maintains his bravado but lacks the substance and intellect which once made him a leader in the community. That’s a dangerous mix.
So I’ll buy a brick for $100, but first they’ll have to remove Klucarich’s name from the stadium.

Good call on the not naming things after people until they die thing. If they can build this stadium in Brown Deer for Klucarich, why not rename Helfaer Field “McCarthy Stadium”? There seem to be some similarities between McCarthy-ism and CRG-ism. Anybody else notice that or is it just me?
