I think some of their perceived defensiveness comes from their lack of understanding about blogs. it's the "in thing" to disparage blogs among the traditional media, regardless of knowing what function they serve, which isn't the be-all-end-all, but a conduit for sharing information faster. They see conservatives whining about media's liberal bias and then see actual liberals complain that they aren't covering stories accurately (which is true) and just assume both sides hate them equally and for the same reason. Hopefully they'll discern the difference.Good take.
