Actually it wouldn't be bad looking like Jay Heck. Better than looking like Slutsky (unfortunate name by the way).

And why is Slutsky being defended? These CRG are like Pavlovian dogs. The hear the bell of tax cuts and they start to salivate.

I'm not excusing her actions. It was stupid and it was a mistake.

She's already endured excessive humiliation and appears to have attoned. At this point, what more can be done?

In all likelihood she would lose the seat for the dems but then there's Kathleen Falk who appears to be mounting a decent campaign which means the dems could keep the seat.

Sadly, it seems like Peg just hasn't yet smelled the embalming fluid at her political funeral. I'd love to be wrong because she's done some good things, but my sense is that the voting public isn't going to look at the big picture.

Nobody suggested that too many glasses of wine is a crime. If she drinks like a fish, I don't care as long as she stops suing cranberry growers or decides to take on Big Alcohol. Hell, Bob Kasten and Jerry Kleczka took one too many glasses of wine to new levels...

But the AG wasn't just overindulging... she refused a blood test, was in a taxpayer funded car, using taxpayer funded gas, going home (to a tax subsidized office in her house) when she has a taxpayer funded office in Madison (which she could've slept it off in), and was boosting mileage from the taxpayer.

Didn't Burke get nabbed for taking liberties on his per diems?

I see your point. I do. But let's not wax indignant over one and let the other skate. You run the risk of looking like a Brian Blanchard or a Jay Heck...

Are you suggesting that harrassment of women and credit card fraud are lesser crimes than having one too many glasses of wine?

To put it another way, if you had to elect one or the other for the same position, which would you choose, a thief or someone who got behind a wheel after overindulging?

The question that should be on the forefront of voters minds is, what kind of message would it send to our children if Wisconsin sends a convicted criminal to serve as its Attorney General?
