Endorsement: Scot Ross for Secretary of State

Scot.jpg Secretary of State candidate Scot Ross has shown in this campaign that he's both hard-working and a fighter; virtues for any candidate in office.

Sadly the incumbent, Doug LaFollette, has relied on name recognition to coast through decades of elections.  His recent refusal to debate Ross puts the nail in the coffin with us and we believe it's time for him to move on.  In a criticism on Ross, LaFollette wrote in a recent editorial,

Perhaps Mr. Ross was not listening at the Democratic State Convention when I called for Democratic victories and supported key Democratic issues such as choice and the environment. Perhaps Mr. Ross was not listening when, at a recent joint appearance, I strongly criticized Republican candidates.

Therein lies the problem with LaFollette.  He appears to believe that simply being critical of candidates at a Dem convention is where his responsibilities end.  It's not exactly bold to go into friendly territory and tell everyone what they want to hear.

Ross will work to enhance the Secretary of State position into more than just a figurehead. His website says this about him:

Scot served as Research Director of America Coming Together, a group dedicated to registering and mobilizing voters to elect progressives up and down the ticket in Wisconsin and other battleground states across the country.
