McNamara-McGraw pits suburbs against city in desperate autocall

LMMSept_2006.jpgFormer Milwaukee Alderman Lorraine McNamara-McGraw must thrive on divisiveness.

In an autocall sent to Brown Deer residents, she attempted to make Brown Deer residents feel they had been neglected by the district attorney's office.  Showing an amazing amount of chutzpah, she called her autocall today a "public service announcement".   Here's what she said:

"Hello.  This is a public service announcement for the citizens of Brown Deer.  Did you know the election for Milwaukee County District Attorney is about servicing you, the public of Brown Deer, as well as the City of Milwaukee?  Yes, it is tragic that Milwaukee had yet another shooting of two young lives last night, but the district attorney has a sixteen and a half million dollar budget and is mandated to serve the entire county — not just Milwaukee.  This is Lorraine McNamara-McGraw and it's time for the DA's office to do a better job of working with Brown Deer law enforcement."

Is she nuts?

Why should the DA be spending resources in Brown Deer if there are bigger problems in the city?  As a Brown Deer resident, I'm deeply insulted that she thinks we are all so shallow as to demand that resources be spent here when this is not where they're mostly needed.

As a former member of the Brown Deer Traffic and Safety Committee, I can tell you without hesitation that Brown Deer has not been slighted by the DA's office.  Brown Deer works hand in hand with the DA's office.  McNamara-McGraw doesn't live in Brown Deer and she's chosen to try to pander to Brown Deer residents by implying that we're somehow being slighted or neglected.

Interesting.

Last week she thought an African-American audience at the NAACP forum would respond positively if she implied that a police officer might have been guilty for the shooting of a girl last week.  Playing the race card didn't work out real well for her then and hopefully playing the city vs suburbs card won't work this time.

Note: We endorsed John Chisholm last week.

  1. Jane Roe:

Did you see her lit piece where she details crime statistics per 100k citizens?

She omits the city of Milwaukee – why?

What is she thinking…? What is her point? She is a lunatic?

I also want to know who ‘Taco’ is and why does everyone in her literature look like they are on Prozac?

    Mac-Mac is bad-bad.

I was undecided until I was looking at the ballot. I did fill in the arrow for McNamara-McGraw. I just felt we needed a change.
