Secretary of State candidates sound off

Scot Ross, 36, is running against Doug LaFollette for Secretary of State in a primary. Scot Ross:

Scot.jpg"Republicans want to keep those of us making less than $35000 a year from voting… when we vote, Republicans lose but the people of Wisconsin win". Ross pointed out his labor and democratic credentials. He's worked for Ron Kind, Governor Doyle, Joe Wineke, Peg Lautenschlager and even Kathleen Falk. "What John Gard and the Republicans in the legislature are doing is wrong… 2006 will be a turning point election". Alluding to LaFollette, Ross asks, "have we asked too little"? "I'm Scot Ross, I'm running for Secretary of State… and I humbly ask for your vote September 12th". And now our comments: Ross is energized. He seems like he would be a more activist dem.

Secretary of State Doug LaFollette Not much energy there but he certainly does care. But is that enough? LaFollette:

I've worked with Rock the Vote and other groups. I've worked to promote fair and honest elections. I've never lost an election to this office … (asks for our vote) … but the most important race is to re-elect Governor Doyle. "I ask for your support and your work for our ticket in November".

You've got to admire him but he seems like a bit more of an administrator than a candidate. The truth though is that the position really is mostly administrative.
