Edwards or Obama?
I like John Edwards. I always have. He’s good on most issues and his southern charm tells me he’s very electable — even in the south which is a place I would like to see the dems reach out to more.
But I’m also a fan of Barack Obama. Obama also has a great deal of charm and if I look at all the issues, I probably agree with Obama more than any other candidate.
Since my choice, Al Gore, won’t be running, I’m left to choose between two exceptionally talented individuals — neither of which will be visiting the democratic state convention this week so even if I wanted to attend as a guest, I wouldn’t have an opportunity to hear them.
I’ve also heard the detractors say why they think one candidate is less than perfect for one reason or another. Yes there’s that argument that the country wouldn’t elect a black President. I think that’s probably bunk. I’ve also heard the criticism of John Edwards apparent fixation with his hair — to that I say big deal. Everybody has their quirks. Some people bite their nails and some people play with their hair. The hair thing is just a shallow attempt to discredit a guy who has spent his political life to do good things.

If it were up to me, I’d love to see Obama and Edwards both on the ticket, and I don’t much care who would be #1 and #2. They’d be a dynamite, new generation combo –remember the synergy when Clinton and Gore campaigned together?
One can only remember the the big ‘todo’ that former senator Proxmire aroused when he got hairplugs…what a big deal.
