Walker slashes Transit & Parks then wants to dump them

He’s slashing funding for parks and public transit — two of the core responsibilities of Milwaukee County, but County Executive Scott Walker isn’t bothered.

Now Walker wants to spin off these core responsibilities to independent taxing entities.

So why, oh why, do we need the position of County Executive? If he’s doing less and less every year, wouldn’t it make sense to simply eliminate the position? After all, the County Board has been downsized? Why not eliminate the entire County Executive department and save some real tax dollars?
