“I’m going to die today”
My wife’s Uncle Paul passed away yesterday. What was remarkable was that he said to his wife “I’m going to die today”. She wanted to rush him to the hospital and he said no. It was his preference to die comfortably in his easy chair. He called a few close friends and family then sat down and died. Before he died he told Aunt Arlene that God had told him in a dream that he would die that day.
I thought to myself, what a gift. And when I say a gift I refer to the knowledge that he was given in the dream that allowed him to live his last day knowing it was his last.
So why do I refer to something this personal to my family? It’s because that’s the way we should all live our lives — as though each day will be our last.
